I find a quality piece of clothing is all down to the way you wear that particular garment/s, attitude and confidence is the main key and with it you can pull anything off. Some of the greatest quality pieces I have seen haven’t actually been that great off, they just look amazing on because that piece of material is effortlessly confident in ways that would amaze us, but aren’t that hard!
2. Which country do you wish you lived in?
I have always wanted to live in Spain, cliché I know. It is just so diverse, historically, culturally, gastronomically and geographically. In Spain I would love to live in Pasajes San Juan, a cute little fishing village with the most beautiful old architecture overlooking the sea. How adorable!
3. Who are some of your favourite designers?
Alannah Hill!!
I live for Alice McCall, beautiful collection out at the moment.
Some others I like are also Thurley, Kirrily Johnston, Natasha, Antipodium, TV, day Birger et Mikkelsen, LOVER, Arnsdorf, Briony and Marsh, Nicole Fendel (for jewelery) and Cohen et Sabine
4. What is your favourite piece of art of all time?
At the moment I am just amazed by Gerhard Richter’s work, he is an amazing artist and I especially love his work ‘Woman descending the staircase’ it is so astounding and different to art I have seen lately. His work never ceases to amaze me.
5. What are some of your favourite fashion websites, magazines, or books?
Well I love fashion blogs of course, I mainly follow them when it comes to websites, Garance Dorѐ I am hooked on, look her up she is so inspirational. I am a devoted Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Elle reader and I love to follow Fashionoffice, Fashionlines and Fashionclick online.
6. Name five people who you would invite to a dinner, living or dead?
Gabrielle Bonheur (Coco Chanel) – who wouldn’t want to have dinner with her!?)
Alice Dellal – such a beautiful model
Courtney Smerksi – another model (her eyes wow)
Lady gaga, I am amazed by her sense of fashion, it is so unique
Lykke Li- I love her voice
7. What are your Favourite colours to wear and why?
I personally love black, dark brown, gold and a jade green.
I am not a very ‘bright colour wearing’ person and I love classics and more often than not classic pieces come in these colours. Black can be teemed with almost anything also! Gold is amazing to wear with black, it just brightens everything up and if worm right can make you look a million bucks.
8. What inspired you / made you decide to start your blog?
Lu-c actually inspired me to begin my blog. I have always loved clothes, art, photography and everything that has to do with fashion so I was like ‘oh why don’t I take pictures for the blog and stick on other photos, how cool!’
9. Where about would you be caught shopping or snagging some amazing deals?
My all time favourite shop is Alannah Hill in the city, I honestly couldn’t live without her clothing (her collection at the moment oh my god!) I live in Brisbane so, hitting up Paddington is a number 1 spot for me to go, La La Latrobe is beautiful for all your blacks or eggshell colour outfits, meow meow is always a delight to shop in. I am obsessed with Di Swenkey and her two daughters Lauren and Emma, their shop Black Caviar, which is at mooloolaba on the sunshine coast, you must visit it.
10. Can you define your personal style?
I always, always, always love to wear some bracelets and rings. I like to mix things up a bit, depending on my mood; I might go for something a bit interesting & out there. Right now, I love fur coats, leopard print, gold jewelry, super high wedges, my jeans (cant live without my tight, tight jeans!!) tops that are high necked and low backed (yes I know its winter, get over it) and basically the old school classic cut dress (see Alannah Hill’s ‘handcuff me now’ frock AMAZING)
11. What song are you obsessed with at the moment?
Well, on my blog I actually have a couple of songs I really like. I cannot choose one, I am sorry! But I absolutely adore, Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix Final Version) , Florence & the machine – swimming, Kaskade (featuring Dragonette) - Fire In Your New Shoes, Tunng - Hustle (Cillo Remix), Jay-Z vs Black Kids - Not Gunna Encore (Ha! Yes Mash-Up), Toro Y Moi - Low Shoulder, The Hood Internet - Cult Logic Forever (Drake ft. Kanye West & Lil Wayne vs Miike Snow), Marina & The Diamonds - Obsessions (Single), Caribou – Odessa.
Woops! Okay that was way more than one song, but they are all my FAVOURITE songs. I thought of one and they all came in my head and I seriously couldn’t chose!
